Update: Anabaptists.org on the Market

As I posted earlier (Pricing Anabaptists.org), my ancient-by-web-age Anabaptists site is for sale due to familial financial founderings.

So…here’s a great opportunity for someone to take over a long-established pioneering site and further develop its ministry of blessing and encouragement and edification. Maybe there’s no one individual out there with the resources to purchase this. But surely there’s a group of financially-able visionaries who would take it on. Or maybe a church or a mission board or a business would eagerly take on such an investment in the Kingdom of God.

Yes, the price is very steep. I’m not being greedy; I’m just trying to…

  1. Recoup a portion of my sixteen-year investment in that project.
  2. Zero out some of my hefty debts.
  3. Ensure whoever might buy it isn’t just doing so on a selfish whim.
  4. Determine whether God does want me to sell out.

So what exactly is included in the sale package?

  1. The domain www.anabaptists.org itself.
  2. The privilege to have the current site contents continue on the site itself.
  3. The opportunity to further develop the site.
  4. My limited help in effecting the transition to and set-up on the buyer’s host server.

What is not included in the sale package?

  1. The intellectual property rights to the material currently on the site. (For instance, the buyer cannot use any material on the site to rebrand as his own or to publish in a book.)
  2. Any other sites or domains owned by Mark Roth and/or presented as part of the Anabaptists Web Project. (For instance, sites such as Anabaptist Bookstore, God’s Post, EAF, and Anabaptist Solutions.)
  3. My personal and family email addresses using @anabaptists.org — for at least two years post-sale.

Would I consider not selling Anabaptists (site and domain) if someone(s) made a significant thanks-for-the-site-all-these-years-please-keep-it-and-keep-it-going donation? Possibly.

Got questions to ask or an offer to make? Contact me privately or post them below as public comments.

(Are any of my other Web enterprises for sale? Sure, if the price and motives and vision are right.)
