You’ve simply got to read Dorcas Smucker’s article: Learning to live with differences a delight. I extracted both my title and the above quote from it.

Two more quotes from the Shoe Lady’s column:

“As a distinctly Mennonite woman in appearance, I don’t mind curiosity, but I dislike both reverence and mockery.”

“But sometimes there was simply no getting around the differences.”

“But I knew that, in reality, I couldn’t. Not at all.”
