A Thankful Look Back

Today was a rough day.

I forgot to practice thankfulness.

Which didn’t help at all.

For a Christian, a rough day is a bad reason to forget to be grateful.

So I decided I would look back on today and make a list of some things for which I am thankful.

I just decided, though, that the list will remain in my cranium.

Where in Egypt Is Mary?

No, not Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Mary, the sister of Jesus. (No, I don’t personally know that for sure.)

This particular Mary was abducted in Egypt in June 2007.

Alas, her case isn’t unique in that part of the world. But I highlight her to remind us:

Abductions of Christian girls are nothing new in Egypt. Records exist of cases that were filed as early as the 1970s. However, kidnappings have increased significantly since Egypt’s revolution last year. It is often the police – the very people that are trusted to uphold the law – who are responsible.
