After the “dark” Psalms of late, Psalm 65 strikes me as light, fresh, and upbeat. Here are several verse fragments that challenged and lifted my heart this morning.

“Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion” (1).

How about “There is praise waiting for you in Molalla, O God, even in Mark Roth’s heart and home”?

Just what does God hear and see coming out of those places, anyway?

“As for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away” (3).

Yes! A cleaning job so thorough the sin goes away completely!

“Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee” (4).

Chosen by and drawn to God Himself. Now here’s a time to use awesome appropriately. Awesome!

“Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice” (8).

Gorgeous sunrises and stunning sunsets — the Lord God made them all.
