Reading: Luke 9:43-62

At times I don’t respond well to opposition. My automatic reactions still too easily bend toward aggresiveness and defensiveness.

So I can understand Jesus’ disciples wanting to call down fire on some folks.

I’m sure Jesus understood as well. But He didn’t cut them any slack:

“But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of” (55).

I want to have His manner of Spirit.

I want to be motivated by His love and compassion for people, even for those who reject me or oppose me. In fact, especially for them.

I want to help save them, not destroy them.

[He that is least among you all, the same shall be great (Luke 9:48)]

A little bit more from Luke 9: To Have His Spirit!

Surely you could add something...
