Reading:
Psalm 124

In certain circumstances and at certain times, the Lord makes all the difference for us.

“If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us” (2).

When someone is against me, if God is with me, I can both endure and respond correctly. (Part of that response will include humility.)

But if God is against me in that particular matter and circumstance, I better get back in line with God! (That, too, requires humility.)

Either way, God makes the difference.

Either way, I must be humble.

Humility is hard for me. (And it’s hard on me as well.)

But I want to be humble because God resists the proud and gives His grace to the humble.

And because He calls on me to walk humbly with Him.

I’m glad He wants to walk with me.

I’m glad He wants to give me grace.
