Proverbs 17:1-10

I’m not very open to correction. 🙁

I tend to resist it.

I can explain and defend myself.

I can see the messenger’s shortcomings. (At least I no longer fight fire with fire.)

But I’m working to have heart that’s open and tender to rebuke and reproof and correction. Like this:

“A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool” (10).

[The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts (Proverbs 17:3)]
