For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Proverbs 23:17-35

“Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long” (Proverbs 23:17).

Why ever would I envy sinners?!

“For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags” (Proverbs 23:21).

Might my definitions of gluttony and laziness be too narrow…to my “advantage”?

Is “responsible drinking” forbidden here or elsewhere in the Scriptures?

When might it be permissible for a Christian to drink wine?

What is the delusion of “strong drink”?

How is this even an applicable lesson to me or to my congregation?!

[The Scriptures say in Proverbs 23:17 -- Be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long]
