{"id":1106,"date":"2008-09-25T08:31:16","date_gmt":"2008-09-25T15:31:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=1106"},"modified":"2012-02-11T07:33:21","modified_gmt":"2012-02-11T15:33:21","slug":"why-youd-like-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2008\/why-youd-like-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Why You&#8217;d Like Me&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;for President of the United States of America.<\/p>\n<p>Now that the main stream parties have settled on Obama and McCain, I should tell you a few more reasons <b>why you should want me for President<\/b>. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not a politician neither do I belong to any political party. I am a true independent who is not in anybody&#8217;s pocket. I have no &#8220;handlers&#8221; and will hire none nor will accept the services of any. I am not driven by polls or focus groups.<\/p>\n<p>I believe leaders should lead by example and live by the law.<\/p>\n<p>I believe leaders should be available to the people. To that end, I think a President should aim to&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take time for the children, reading or telling a story to be Webcast on the White House web site once or twice a week.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate weekly via radio, TV, chat, and\/or blogs.<\/li>\n<li>Do a live town hall meeting once a month, each time in a different state in Union.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have no skeletons in my closet.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t believe in trying to boost myself by trying to take someone else down.<\/p>\n<p>I do my best to promote only that which is good.<\/p>\n<p>I think a President should not tolerate anything less than a morally safe work environment in the White House.<\/p>\n<p>I am unbendingly veto-disposed against earmarks, pork, and riders. If I were President, I would veto a bill before compromising my principles to sign it.<\/p>\n<p>Known lobbyists have no business entering the White House unless they are clearly representing the people&#8217;s interests.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals, organizations, and nations must live well within their means.<\/p>\n<p>If the Constitution stipulates it, that&#8217;s it.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and I have no use for speech writers and teleprompters. I compose my own talks and speak from printed (and once in a while, hand-written) notes. And, yes, I think I have been gifted as a public speaker (I just need to work at developing better tonal quality).<\/p>\n<p>So there you are. If you&#8217;re a Democrat who can&#8217;t vote for Obama or a Republican who can&#8217;t vote for McCain or an Independent who&#8217;s stuck up a tree without a paddle, you could opt to write in my name on your ballot. \ud83d\ude06<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;for President of the United States of America.
