{"id":1464,"date":"2009-03-01T07:22:14","date_gmt":"2009-03-01T15:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=1464"},"modified":"2009-03-01T08:14:38","modified_gmt":"2009-03-01T16:14:38","slug":"pre-christian-behavior","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2009\/pre-christian-behavior\/","title":{"rendered":"Pre-Christian Behavior"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last couple of years or so, I&#8217;ve had various times to wonder why Christians insist (at times) on behaving in Christ-less manners.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Making someone else look bad<\/li>\n<li>Undermining authority<\/li>\n<li>Paying back spitefully what someone else did unwittingly<\/li>\n<li>Spreading an evil report about another<\/li>\n<li>Reacting viciously against contradiction or correction<\/li>\n<li>Dishonoring parents<\/li>\n<li>Belittling children<\/li>\n<li>Returning evil for evil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s only the beginning of the list, of course. <b>But why do Christians indulge that kind of behavior?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>When I see it, I&#8217;m left feeling puzzled.<\/p>\n<p>And (at times) angry or vindictive or hurt or depressed or scornful.<\/p>\n<p>Which raises another question: <b>Aren&#8217;t those also forms of pre-Christian behavior?<\/b><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last couple of years or so, I&#8217;ve had various times to wonder why Christians insist (at times) on behaving in Christ-less manners.
