(I assume that to be a reasonably accurate statement, don&#8217;t you?)<\/p>\n<p>Too easily and too often, though, <strong>we feel picked on when we shouldn&#8217;t<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So, in the interest of clarifying that statement (as well as in the interest of helping you not feel picked on when you shouldn&#8217;t), I offer up four measuring sticks to answer this question:<\/p>\n<p><b>Are &#8220;they&#8221; picking on you?<\/b><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-top:-1.2em\">\n<li>If they are just fault-finding, yes.<\/li>\n<li>If they are sincerely concerned about you, no.<\/li>\n<li>If they want to know your view instead of assuming to know it, no.<\/li>\n<li>If they want you to tell them more about The Issue in order to balance their own views, no<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Does that makes sense to you like it does to me?<\/p>\n<p>But what if you truly are being picked on?<\/p>\n<p><b>What are godly responses to being picked on?<\/b><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-top:-1.2em\">\n<li>Pray blessing on them.<\/li>\n<li>Be open to what might apply to you anyway.<\/li>\n<li>Forgive them.<\/li>\n<li>Look for the opportunities to love them.<\/li>\n<li>Reject anger, bitterness, self-pity, vengefulness, and further fault-finding.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t gossip or resort to evil speaking of them.<\/li>\n<li><b>Remember:<\/b> Any &#8220;lumps&#8221; you get actually are less than you deserve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not necessarily!
