{"id":1649,"date":"2009-07-22T17:08:53","date_gmt":"2009-07-23T00:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=1649"},"modified":"2013-05-04T19:26:34","modified_gmt":"2013-05-05T02:26:34","slug":"ice-in-coffee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2009\/ice-in-coffee\/","title":{"rendered":"Ice in Coffee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I like my Nescaf&eacute; Cl&aacute;sico hot, with a slosh of milk added for my innards&#8217; sake (and to soften the coffee flavor down to my ET &#8212; Enjoyability Threshold).<\/p>\n<p>But this afternoon &#8212; since it&#8217;s plenty warm about &#8212; I impulsively decided to make myself some iced coffee.<\/p>\n<p>In order to stave off any frenzied emails asking for my secret recipe, I shall forthwith divulge the process by which I made my caffeinated concoction. <!--more But if you want to find out what it is, you'll have to click here. --><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Dump coffee crystals into mug.<\/li>\n<li> Add sugar.<\/li>\n<li> Add boiling water (for nigh-to-instant dissolution of aforementioned crystals &#8212; both kinds).<\/li>\n<li> Stir vigorously to finish off the &#8220;nigh-to&#8221; part of above dissolution.<\/li>\n<li> Add milk if GI tract (including the tasting portion) demand it.<\/li>\n<li> Add ice cubes.<\/li>\n<li> Stir.<\/li>\n<li> Wait.<\/li>\n<li> Stir.<\/li>\n<li> Wait.<\/li>\n<li> Drink.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Serves: one<\/p>\n<p>Notes related to two of the above steps:<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left:25px\"><b>#6<\/b> &#8212; Easy does it. Ice cubes are slippery. My first one got away from me and <i>plopped<\/i> into my drink when it should have <i>slipped<\/i> in. Result: clean-up time.<\/p>\n<p><b>#11<\/b> &#8212; I skipped a few steps between this one and previous one. I actually had to repeat the 7-8 and 9-10 sequences a few more times, but I was trying to make a long story short.<\/div>\n<p><b>Post-impulse analysis:<\/b> Not again. At least not that way. I never did get the drink to the truly Iced Coffee stage.
