{"id":193,"date":"2006-07-12T07:24:53","date_gmt":"2006-07-12T13:24:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=193"},"modified":"2006-07-12T07:30:30","modified_gmt":"2006-07-12T13:30:30","slug":"turning-up-the-me-heat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2006\/turning-up-the-me-heat\/","title":{"rendered":"Turning Up the ME Heat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK, <a href=\"http:\/\/reuters.myway.com\/article\/20060712\/2006-07-12T111907Z_01_L11538533_RTRIDST_0_NEWS-MIDEAST-DC.html\">here&#8217;s the news item<\/a>:<\/p>\n<table width=75% align=center bgcolor=pink border=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=5>\n<tr>\n<td>Hizbollah guerrillas captured two Israeli soldiers and killed up to seven Israelis in violence on either side of the Lebanese border on Wednesday, further inflaming Middle East tensions.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert described the Hizbollah attacks as an &#8220;act of war&#8221; by Lebanon and promised a &#8220;very painful and far-reaching&#8221; response.<\/p>\n<p>Defense Minister Amir Peretz said Israel held the Lebanese government responsible for the two soldiers&#8217; fate because it let Hizbollah operate freely against Israel from its territory.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Israel sees itself as being free to employ any means it deems fit, and the army has been instructed accordingly,&#8221; he said in a statement, hinting at a broad military response.<\/p>\n<p>Israel began calling up reserve troops, signaling a large-scale campaign to retrieve the two soldiers, Israel&#8217;s Channel 10 television said.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a Christian, do you pray about these matters? And if so, how? And if not, why not?<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, over at Wizbangblog, <a href=\"http:\/\/wizbangblog.com\/2006\/07\/12\/hezbollah-captures-2-israeli-soldiers-israel-strikes-back.php\">Kim Priestap observes:<\/a><\/p>\n<table width=75% align=center bgcolor=pink border=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=5>\n<tr>\n<td>So Hezbollah had this planned and was ready for Israel&#8217;s response. This could get really ugly really quickly. If the terrorists see even more momentum swinging their way, we could see an attack on Israel from all fronts.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>I very much agree.<\/p>\n<p>It appears we are lurching toward all-out war. Maybe. Is that what&#8217;s happening here?
