He begins&#8230;.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A wounded spirit is one that is hurting, but one in which the hurt has festered into unbearable attitudes and responses. A person with a wounded spirit lives in inner misery that focuses regularly on his injuries.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then he proceeds to flesh out briefly two short outlines which itemize some characteristics of a wounded spirit and a broken spirit.<\/p>\n<p>According to Coblentz, a wounded spirit lives out:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><i>A negative mind-set.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Victim reasoning.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Grievance mannerisms.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Blame tactics.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In contrast to that, he looks in Psalm 51 and finds these characteristics associated with brokenness:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><i>Acknowledgment of wrong.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Contrition.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Humility.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Seeking after God.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Teachability.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Unworthiness.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Do read the full article: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anabaptists.org\/places\/dlm\/wounded-or-broken.html\">Wounded or Broken?<\/a> &#8212; it&#8217;s relatively short&#8230;and beneficial.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t tried to figure out my answer.
