I remember him as a doorman at the now-defunct Rescue Mission in Portland (Oregon).<\/p>\n

He served there, helping rescue down-and-outers.<\/p>\n

Some of them were quite wrecked.<\/p>\n

Early this morning, Richard was rescued from this life. <\/p>\n

Rescued, I say!<\/p>\n

He had a long walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Accompanied, I believe, by the Good Shepherd.<\/p>\n

Now another of Hopewell’s<\/a> spent veterans is Home.<\/p>\n

Complete, whole, well, perfect — Richard Allan (1920-2011).<\/p>\n
