{"id":2384,"date":"2012-03-18T08:06:39","date_gmt":"2012-03-18T15:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=2384"},"modified":"2012-03-18T08:06:39","modified_gmt":"2012-03-18T15:06:39","slug":"living-in-a-collapsing-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2012\/living-in-a-collapsing-culture\/","title":{"rendered":"Living in a Collapsing Culture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are.<\/p>\n<p>Does that mean we too are collapsing?<\/p>\n<p>Not necessarily.<\/p>\n<p>How do I change that answer to <b>&#8220;No!&#8221;<\/b>?<\/p>\n<p>Before I get to that, I just want you to know that <!--more--> I considered two other titles for this post:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top:-1.3em\">\n<li>Faithful in Contemporary America<\/li>\n<li>Thriving Spiritually in These Last Times<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those two, along with the one I actually used, are three (similar) theme ideas I came up with for our annual Bible Conference at Hopewell Mennonite Church.<\/p>\n<p>I attended a planning session on February 26. Also with me, some topic ideas:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Lighting the Darkness<\/li>\n<li>Being Wise as Serpents and Harmless as Doves<\/li>\n<li>Preparing for Perilous Times<\/li>\n<li>Seeking First Things First<\/li>\n<li>Overcoming Fears and Anxieties<\/li>\n<li>Loving God First of All and Above All<\/li>\n<li>Showing the Face of Jesus at WalMart<\/li>\n<li>Influencing Politics and the Civil Society<\/li>\n<li>Acknowledging God in All Our Ways<\/li>\n<li>Hungering and Thirsting After Righteousness<\/li>\n<li>Discerning and Refuting Ecumenicism<\/li>\n<li>Cultivating an Ongoing and Expanding Revival<\/li>\n<li>Living in Holiness Amid the Normalization of Perversion<\/li>\n<li>Building Each Other Up in the Most Holy Faith<\/li>\n<li>Knowing for What to Live&#8230;and Die<\/li>\n<li>Offering Anabaptist Christian Solutions<\/li>\n<li>Warning the Wanderer and Rescuing the Lost<\/li>\n<li>Sustaining the Weary<\/li>\n<li>Anchoring our Families<\/li>\n<li>Exercising Wisdom in Our Use of Electronic Media<\/li>\n<li>Loving the Scriptures<\/li>\n<li>Watching in Prayer<\/li>\n<li>Walking Humbly With My God<\/li>\n<li>Responding Redemptively to Failure<\/li>\n<li>Taking Our Place Among the Called and Chosen and Faithful<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And that&#8217;s all I have to say for now. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are.
