{"id":2409,"date":"2012-04-09T14:54:31","date_gmt":"2012-04-09T21:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=2409"},"modified":"2012-04-09T14:54:31","modified_gmt":"2012-04-09T21:54:31","slug":"four-friends-photo-folly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2012\/four-friends-photo-folly\/","title":{"rendered":"Four Friends&#8217; Photo Folly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the weekend, in the course of keeping up with a bunch of friends online, I saw four friends&#8217; photos that left me dismayed, if not <a href=\"http:\/\/translate.google.com\/#auto|en|desilusionado\">desilusionado<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You wonder who they are? \ud83d\ude44<\/p>\n<p>For the purposes of this post, their identity doesn&#8217;t matter. <img src=\"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/mrgreen.png\" alt=\":mrgreen:\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You wonder where I saw them?<\/p>\n<p>Online, I said. You know, places like Facebook and Twitter, G+ and blogs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two of those photos <!--more--> I found revolting.<\/li>\n<li>Another made me wonder about her naivet\u00e9 in offering up such an innocently enticing (or enticingly innocent) pose of herself.<\/li>\n<li>Two were the kind that make me marvel again at how cheaply some gals must value their God-given physical&#8230;ah&#8230;well, you know what I mean.<\/li>\n<li>One left me scratching my head (though only figuratively, you understand) that the person would actually post such a contrary-witness-for-a-Christian photo.<\/li>\n<li>At least three caused me to ponder (briefly, I&#8217;ll admit) the matter of shamelessness and the unashamed flaunting of such shamelessness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OK, I know those all appear to total more than four, but they doesn&#8217;t. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, what are my purposes in posting this?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Challenge <i>you<\/i> (as I have been) to give sufficient wise thought to personal photos we post online.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage us to check to see if any photos we&#8217;ve posted online might be one of the four triggering this post.<\/li>\n<li>Remind me and you that photos we consider harmless may well be <a href=\"http:\/\/dictionary.reference.com\/browse\/deleterious\">deleterious<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Tweak those who read what I write or hear what I say . . . and jump to the conclusion I&#8217;m talking about them. \ud83d\ude06 <\/li>\n<li>Invite your critique of any photos I post online. (See #3 above.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Regarding #4, if you want to ask me if I&#8217;m talking about your photo, go right ahead. You might be surprised at the answer. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>I close assuring you of these four things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I consider these people to be my friends.<\/li>\n<li>I bear them no ill-will or contempt or the like.<\/li>\n<li>I fancy myself neither cop nor prosecutor nor judge nor executioner.<\/li>\n<li>I doubt I have <i>your<\/i> photo in mind. \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oh. Do I plan to contact any of these friends privately about my observations?
