{"id":2455,"date":"2012-06-23T20:39:30","date_gmt":"2012-06-24T03:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=2455"},"modified":"2012-06-24T10:35:21","modified_gmt":"2012-06-24T17:35:21","slug":"saturday-26-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2012\/saturday-26-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Saturday 26.12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A look back at some things I saw online this week.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, though, several of my many Google searches: <!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=when+to+use+roundup\" title=\"Google: when to use roundup\">when to use roundup<\/a> &#8212; How soon before rain, at what temperature, when in the year should I apply it? I found out straight white vinegar supposedly works just as well! I&#8217;m anxious to give it a try.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=benefits+of+chamomile+tea\" title=\"Google: benefits of chamomile tea\">benefits of chamomile tea<\/a> &#8212; It&#8217;s surely good for something besides making a body sleepy&#8230; Like, will it make the little spider veins in my ankles go away? Will it clear up any other blemishes? (Actually, that last one isn&#8217;t a search-trigger for me at all.)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=characteristics+of+a+clique\" title=\"Google: characteristics of a clique\">characteristics of a clique<\/a> &#8212; Over the last five years, I&#8217;ve heard of certain somebodies feeling ostracized or something. Not by me, you understand. Come to think of it, though, I suspect I&#8217;ve made some people feel excluded or overlooked&#8230;and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anabaptists.org\/clp\/youth\/11-496.html\" title=\"Anabaptists | Carried Away into Captivity\">I didn&#8217;t mean to<\/a>! \ud83d\ude41 Problem is, neither did I mean <i>not<\/i> to. How could I be that insensitive when I know too well what it&#8217;s like to be (or at least feel) left out and uninvited!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=omar+fermin+montenegro\" title=\"Google: omar fermin montenegro\">omar fermin montenegro<\/a> &#8212; I wanted to know if he&#8217;s still on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2009\/montenegro-still-lapd-mw\/\" title=\"Montenegro: Still LAPD MW?\">Most Wanted list<\/a> of the Los Angeles Police Department. He is. I thought he wouldn&#8217;t be by now. Detective McKnight, wasn&#8217;t that settled in Nicaragua? Apparently not. I must have misunderstood the missionary&#8230; <span style=\"font-style:italic; padding-left:10px\">shrug<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/news\/entry\/the-obama-event-registry\" title=\"Obama Event Registry\">The Obama Event Registry<\/a> &#8212; Apparently some hacker didn&#8217;t work his mayhem on the President&#8217;s blog (or whatever it is). In some ways, that would have been a better explanation for this. Oh well. Hey! Maybe I should set up an event registry for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anabaptists.org\/places\/cam\/\" title=\"Anabaptists | Christian Aid Ministries\">Christian Aid Ministries<\/a>. Or for my own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anabaptists.org\/tohelp.html\" title=\"Anabaptists | How to help anabaptists.org and Mark Roth\">Web Events<\/a>. \ud83d\ude2f<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland\/index.ssf\/2012\/06\/as_wedding_disaster_stories_go.html\" title=\"Wedding Disaster\">A Disastrous Wedding Story<\/a> &#8212; It does have its nice moments, though!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pensitoreview.com\/2007\/03\/21\/nixon-waived-executive-privilege-in-watergate-so-did-reagan-in-iran-contra\/\" title=\"Executive Privilege and Nixon and Reagan\">President Reagan Waived Executive Privilege For His Own Gun-Running Operation<\/a> &#8212; I thought of Iran-Contra right away when I heard President Obama invoked executive privilege against Congress in its probe of the &#8220;Fast and Furious&#8221; thing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland\/index.ssf\/2012\/06\/probation_officer_answers_face.html\" title=\"Probation Officer Answers Facebook Challenge\">Probation Officer Accepts Facebook Challenge&#8230;and Wins<\/a> &#8212; If the challenger would have read this blog regularly, he&#8217;d have known to be careful about postings to social media.<\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pin\/77757531036858412\/' target='_blank'><img src='http:\/\/media-cache-ec3.pinterest.com\/upload\/77757531036858412_mwCKWGi4_c.jpg' style=\"border:none; width:200px; height:78px; float:right; margin-left:10px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.oregonlive.com\/commuting\/2012\/06\/every_oregon_driver_is_a_traff.html\" title=\"Citizen Traffic Officers in Oregon\">Citizen Traffic Officers in Oregon<\/a> &#8212; Oregon is the only state in the Union that allows citizens to write DIY traffic tickets. And to think I&#8217;ve never issued a ticket, despite ample opportunities to do so. Then again, nobody has issued one against me, so there you are.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/emotional-goodbye-for-young-italian-mother-who-died-for-unborn-child\/\" title=\"Emotional Good-bye for Young Italian Mother\">Young Italian Mother Makes a Choice&#8230;and Dies<\/a> &#8212; What a touching story! I hope she got her wish to spend eternity where her two other children are.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-latin-america-18561819\" title=\"Mexican Used Car Salesman Captured\">Mexico Drug War Triumph Turns Sour<\/a> &#8212; They thought they had the son of El Chapo Guzm\u00e1n. Alas (and allegedly), it turns out they snagged a used car salesman instead. (Color me fishy. I mean, my perspective on this. Something rings rather suspicious to me.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/usnews.msnbc.msn.com\/_news\/2012\/06\/22\/12363420-federal-agents-help-us-identify-endangered-teen?lite\" title=\"Feds Need Help Identifying Endangered Teen\">Can You Identify This Endangered Teen<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/online.worldmag.com\/2012\/06\/22\/loving-the-pools-neighbor\/\" title=\"Loving the Pool's Neighbor\">Loving the Pool&#8217;s Neighbor<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/online.worldmag.com\/2012\/06\/08\/stuff\/\" title=\"Stuff...for Garage Sales\">Stuff (and Garages and Garage Sales)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.freesound.org\/browse\/tags\/background-noise\/\" title=\"Free Sound\">How About Some Free Digital Sounds?<\/a> &#8212; Just watch your step there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecommercebytes.com\/C\/blog\/blog.pl?\/pl\/2012\/6\/1340246411.html\" title=\"A New eBay Feature Detrimental to Sellers?\">Did eBay Ambush Sellers Again?<\/a> &#8212; Just one more story\/development to cool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2012\/seven-things-ive-learned-selling-on-ebay\/\" title=\"Did you know Mark Roth sells on eBay?\">my eBay zeal<\/a> just a little more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christianangelinvestors.com\/\" title=\"Christian Angel Investors\">Christian Angel Capital Network<\/a> &#8212; Maybe I should try this route instead of a Roth Event Registry&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.jackcheng.com\/post\/25160553986\/the-slow-web\" title=\"The Slow Web\">The Slow Web<\/a> &#8212; Most of my years online have been slow. I finally got DSL in late September 2010. (This is about something different, though.)<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s it for <b>Saturday Version 26.12<\/b> &#8212; thanks for your rapt attention!
