{"id":2520,"date":"2012-09-12T10:24:27","date_gmt":"2012-09-12T17:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=2520"},"modified":"2012-09-12T10:24:27","modified_gmt":"2012-09-12T17:24:27","slug":"2012-09-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2012\/2012-09-11\/","title":{"rendered":"2012&#8217;s 9-11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>That was yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>By evening I had noticed&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top:-1.2em\">\n<li>The US Embassy in Cairo was attacked.<\/li>\n<li>Israel&#8217;s Primer Minister couldn&#8217;t get a visit scheduled with the US President.<\/li>\n<li>An American Consulate in Libya was attacked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This morning early I learned that the American Ambassador to Libya had been killed along with three other American personnel.<\/p>\n<p>And right away I figured the conservative radiosphere and blogosphere and printosphere would be blazing, boiling, and steaming today.<\/p>\n<p>Just like I figured the liberal counterparts won&#8217;t be standing idly by, just taking it.<\/p>\n<p>I also wondered how this impacts&#8230;<\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-top:-1.2em\">\n<li>The US Presidential campaign.<\/li>\n<li>Israel&#8217;s plans for Iran.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>On the first item, in normal times, a sitting US President would be hard put to survive this politically toward the end of a &#8220;close fought&#8221; reelection bid.<\/p>\n<p>On the second item, I don&#8217;t see how Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government (and countrymen?) can see American &#8220;impotence&#8221; in defending its own interests in Egypt and Cairo&#8230;and conclude it&#8217;s safe for Israel to wait&#8230;and count on American protection and assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Another angle that fascinates me here (OK, maybe that&#8217;s overstated) is the fact that Egypt and Libya are the two Arab (are Libyans Arab?) countries most recently &#8220;liberated&#8221; from long-term dictatorships&#8230;with American encouragement and\/or assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Well, I imagine there&#8217;s a lot of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2008\/bds-phase-2\/\" title=\"Bush Derangement Syndrome and Barack Derangement Syndrome\">BDS and BDS II<\/a> raging out there today. The left is likely finding ways to implement a &#8220;It&#8217;s all Bush&#8217;s fault&#8221; approach and the right is likely lashing out with the current edition of the &#8220;Barack is an incompetent, unpatriotic President&#8221; perspective.<\/p>\n<p><em>Folks, we live in times of great peril&#8230;with the worse yet to come.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"verse\">&#8220;For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows&#8221;<\/span> (Mark 13:8).<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does that affect you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And if you&#8217;re a Christian, how does it affect your praying?<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>That was yesterday.
