At times I’ve seen lists or guidelines or policies on the Web that impress me as something I’d like to use as a pattern for my own site.<\/p>\n

So I copy-and-paste.<\/p>\n

Then I personalize it to my style and localize it to my site. (I dislike — and maybe disdain and despise — plagiarism<\/a>\"\".)<\/p>\n

One problem with the practice of borrowing content is rebroadcasting the other person’s typos and grammar violations<\/strong>. \ud83d\ude44 (Do you know what “soul property” is?)<\/p>\n

Another problem is inadvertently promoting the other site<\/strong>. \ud83d\ude33<\/p>\n

Here’s a sample I saw online:<\/p>\n

Green shows the rebroadcasting of a language slip.<\/p>\n

Purple shows the inadvertent promotion of the source site.<\/p>\n

Suggestion:<\/b> Hire my eyeballs.<\/a> (Bonus: brain tossed in at no additional fee.)<\/p>\n
