In determining the meaning of any Act of Congress, or of any ruling, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative bureaus and agencies of the United States, the word ‘marriage’ means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word ‘spouse’ refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That’s what the Defense of Marriage Act, Section 3<\/a> claimed for almost 17 years.<\/p>\n

<\/a>\"\"And what humanity claimed from the beginning of time.<\/p>\n

And what God declared<\/a> from eternity.<\/p>\n

And what the Supreme Court of the United States today said isn’t so.<\/p>\n

Well, what five members of that court said.<\/p>\n

Actually, just one that mattered (if you want to look at it that way). If one of those five had voted differently, the outcome would have been different.<\/p>\n

I wonder how those five propose to define marriage.<\/p>\n

On what basis would they say these aren’t valid marriages:<\/p>\n
