So we now have Fortune magazine’s list of the world’s 50 greatest leaders<\/a>. Let me give you the short story in the next paragraph.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis at #1. Bill Clinton at #5. President Obama didn’t make the cut.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fortune<\/i> says the amazing-to-me exclusion wasn’t. <\/p>\n

President Obama wasn’t excluded from Fortune’s World’s 50 Greatest Leaders list. He simply didn’t make this year’s list of 50 outstanding individuals who have demonstrated rare leadership, leadership in multiple areas or who have demonstrated a long history of leading.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\ude2f So Fortune<\/i> must be (pro-)Republican. Actually, apparently not — no Republican politician made the cut<\/strong> either.<\/p>\n

Nor did I. (Does Miss Fortune even know about me<\/a>?) But no matter. I suspect nobody that’s truly great made the list.<\/strong> In that context, I invite you to read something I wrote in the previous millennium: True Greatness<\/a>.<\/p>\n
