I do.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever grown suspicious of a visiting minister&#8217;s phrasing&#8230;and later learned from Google that he was reading straight out of another&#8217;s book? I have.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t mind public speakers reading or otherwise using material that isn&#8217;t their own. Provided they do it in moderation and with attribution.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s <strong>a breach of integrity, ethics, and public trust<\/strong> to do so without letting the audience know they are doing so! <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s plagiarism and deception, folks.<\/p>\n<p>So a note to public speakers: <strong>Don&#8217;t pass off someone else&#8217;s work as your own!<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"facebook\"><b>Evening Update:<\/b> I thought I should make clear that only in the instance of the SS class was I personally being plagiarized. And just for the record, I don&#8217;t need to be given recognition for ideas that led to the speaker phrasing his subsequent thoughts in his own words.
