{"id":4039,"date":"2020-10-04T09:20:47","date_gmt":"2020-10-04T16:20:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/?p=4039"},"modified":"2020-10-04T09:20:47","modified_gmt":"2020-10-04T16:20:47","slug":"the-church-assembling-the-community-of-believers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/mvp\/2020\/the-church-assembling-the-community-of-believers\/","title":{"rendered":"The Church Assembling: The Community of Believers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Interesting to shoehorn this<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,<br \/>\nas the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:<br \/>\nand so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.<\/p>\n<p>(Hebrews 10:25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>into the historical context of these verses from this morning&#8217;s SS lesson:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And they continued stedfastly in the apostles\u2019 doctrine and fellowship,<br \/>\nand in breaking of bread, and in prayers.<\/p>\n<p>And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple,<br \/>\nand breaking bread from house to house,<br \/>\ndid eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,<\/p>\n<p>(Acts 2:42,46)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Maybe by the time of Hebrews 10 they were slacking off to three services on the Lord&#8217;s Day, another on Wednesday night, and a Bible study on Friday night. So God had the writer issue His warning\/command.  \ud83d\ude33 \ud83d\ude2f <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And to think that in our day, three services a week is excessive to such a degree that we need to cut out Sunday evening services.<\/p>\n<p>Also in our day, going to church once or twice a week is considered being faithful to Hebrews 10:25.<\/p>\n<p>Weird, huh?<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:75%; margin-bottom:1.3em\">This morning I sent the above as an email to a couple of close friends.
