Why do I want God’s blessing? For what do I want His generosity?

Why do I want to have life for longer than yesterday? Or today?

“Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word” (Psalm 119:17).

Interesting!

Would I have thought of that reason on my own? I very much doubt it.

But that’s what I have God’s Word for — to make me think of that which I could not think up on my own.

Life so that I can keep His Word, eh?

I wonder what’s in the Spanish Bible….

“Do good to your servant; that I may live, and keep your word.”

No, I don’t mean feet that get in the way — as in, “All this stuff on my desk is in the way; I can’t find a place to write.”

I mean feet in the way — as in, they are in the path in which they’re supposed to be.

That’s one thing I think of when I read this verse:

“O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!” (Psalm 119:5).

I am blessed and encouraged this morning with the realization that my ways are disposed toward God and His laws.

Sure, I wish I were more that way. And I trust God will continue His work in me.

But I am so glad to see plenty of evidence that I do live according to His will.

He has been and continues to be at work in me!

My feet are in the way.
