“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3).

My Shepherd does not find it burdensome or distasteful to care for me.

When my inner man is tired, run down, and shattered, He is ready (and able!) to renew, restore, rebuild, and refresh.

When all around is darkness and evil and the devil lying in wait, He shows me the right way and leads me in it.

He loves to do this for me!

Will I let Him?

Today?

Right now?

A looked-forward-to event can seem a long time in coming.

Like this:

“All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee” (Psalm 22:27).

I read that and wondered, “How long? How much longer till that happens?”

Everywhere abound people who give God no conscious thought. They certainly don’t turn to Him. They definitely don’t worship Him.

Our world is full of spiritual confusion and physical conflict.

Is it possible that some day Psalm 22:27 will be reality?

It seems far-fetched, unreal, impossible. Maybe even weird.

But it’s true! Someday all will be made new and Jesus will have His rightful place among men.

That sounds so restful.

That sounds so good.

That’s something to look forward to!
