Several times in Ephesians 2 we are reminded of previous times in our lives. In those times (see verses 2, 3, 11, 12) we were contrary to what God has in mind for us.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us…” (4)

…made all the difference!

And not just in the past.

But now or whenever I need it in the future.

So instead of losing heart and giving up because of my past (or on-going) failures, I should turn again to God.

Call for His help. Scream for His help (if that’s how I’m feeling).

What shall I pray?

What shall I pray?

“Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 1:2).

“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers” (Ephesians 1:16).

“That…the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him” (Ephesians 1:17).

“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know…” (Ephesians 1:18).

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe” (Ephesians 1:19).

I want to do better at praying that for others.

  • Grace and peace
  • Thankfulness
  • Spirit of wisdom and knowledge of Jesus
  • Understanding and knowledge
  • Experience God’s power
