I mean, why <i>does<\/i> God want me to work?<\/h5>\n<p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom&#8221;<\/span> (Proverbs 23:4).<\/p>\n<p>Well, it makes sense to me that I should work hard to acquire wealth. But I&#8217;m supposed to turn away from my own wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230;why should I avoid wealth acquisition as my motivation for working?<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven&#8221;<\/span> (Proverbs 23:5).<\/p>\n<p>Material wealth is nothing. Like a sunset, its beauty is arresting but its durability is fleeting.
