Proverbs 20:20-30<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

“Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee”<\/span> (Proverbs 20:22).<\/p>\n

That always applies to me.<\/p>\n

But right now, that principle should guide my response in a particular situation that doesn’t even involve someone doing evil to me in a purposeful, malicious, attacking way.<\/p>\n

For reinforcement of the principle…five more verses:<\/p>\n

“Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work”<\/span> (Proverbs 24:29).<\/p>\n

“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men”<\/span> (Romans 12:17).<\/p>\n

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord”<\/span> (Romans 12:19).<\/p>\n

“See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men”<\/span> (1 Thessalonians 5:15).<\/p>\n

“Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing”<\/span> (1 Peter 3:9).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

May I avoid vengeance and may I choose blessing instead — cheerfully, willingly, thankfully.<\/p>\n
