{"id":1317,"date":"2009-11-20T08:24:01","date_gmt":"2009-11-20T14:24:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eaf.net\/pantinghart\/?p=1317"},"modified":"2014-09-21T07:20:16","modified_gmt":"2014-09-21T14:20:16","slug":"getting-even-dont","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/pantinghart\/2009\/getting-even-dont\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting Even: Don&#8217;t!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"animo\">\n<h2>Be Kingly!<\/h2>\n<p><i>Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.<\/i><\/p>\n<h3>Proverbs 20:28<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"lectura\" style=\"width:275px\">Reading:<\/p>\n<h3>Proverbs 20:20-30<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee&#8221;<\/span> (Proverbs 20:22).<\/p>\n<p>That always applies to me.<\/p>\n<p>But right now, that principle should guide my response in a particular situation that doesn&#8217;t even involve someone doing evil to me in a purposeful, malicious, attacking way.<\/p>\n<p>For reinforcement of the principle&#8230;five more verses:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work&#8221;<\/span> (Proverbs 24:29).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men&#8221;<\/span> (Romans 12:17).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord&#8221;<\/span> (Romans 12:19).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men&#8221;<\/span> (1 Thessalonians 5:15).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing&#8221;<\/span> (1 Peter 3:9).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>May I avoid vengeance and may I choose blessing instead &#8212; cheerfully, willingly, thankfully.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wallpaper\"><a href=\"\/pantinghart\/wp-content\/mans-goings.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pantinghart\/wp-content\/mans-goings.jpg\" alt=\"The Scriptures say in Proverbs 20:24 -- Man\u2019s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?\" title=\"God's Word says: Man\u2019s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
