{"id":1839,"date":"2013-01-23T14:10:14","date_gmt":"2013-01-23T22:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eaf.net\/pantinghart\/?p=1839"},"modified":"2013-01-23T14:10:14","modified_gmt":"2013-01-23T22:10:14","slug":"retaining-god-in-my-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/pantinghart\/2013\/retaining-god-in-my-mind\/","title":{"rendered":"Retaining God in My Mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A verse that has gripped my thinking in the last year is Proverbs 3:6 &#8212; <span class=\"bible\">&#8220;In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In all I do, I want to keep God in mind. I want to remember Him, near. I want to acknowledge His presence.<\/p>\n<p>I still don&#8217;t do well at that, but I do do better.<\/p>\n<p>Well, in my reading this morning, I came to Isaiah 26:3 (which reminded me of the above verse) &#8212; <span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Keeping my mind stayed (ie, focused, fixed, zeroed in) on God must be the same as acknowledging Him in all my ways.<\/p>\n<p>Then I came to Psalm 62:5 &#8212; <span class=\"bible\">&#8220;My soul, wait thou only upon God.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For direction in life (see Proverbs 3:6) and full peace (see Isaiah 26:3), wait on (that is, put your hope in) God. You know, keep Him in your mind and acknowledge Him in all your ways!<\/p>\n<p>Well, when I think of Proverbs 3:6, I also think of Romans 1:28, which addresses its opposite condition &#8212; <span class=\"bible\">&#8220;And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.&#8221;<\/span> <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I purpose to continue refocusing my mind on God. <b>I <i>do<\/i> want to retain Him in my knowledge!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>(Maybe sometime this week I&#8217;ll make myself a computer background\/wallpaper that features all of the above verses&#8230;)<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For direction in life and full peace, put your hope in God.
