Resist demons, don’t negotiate with them!<\/p>\n

Peace with demons means they’ve won.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peace with demons is only an illusion, if even that. Demons always intend evil. Demons will always harass and oppress. Any peace with demons assumes trust in treacherous beings.<\/p>\n

I refuse to make peace with any demons.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”<\/span> (James 4:7).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

<\/p>\n

Nothing there about making peace. Or coexisting in some mutually agreed-upon ceasefire.<\/p>\n

But don’t resist the devil on your own.<\/strong> That’s worse than attempting to stand upright in the full fury of a Category 5 hurricane. Effective devil-and-demon resistance requires the first part of that verse:<\/p>\n

“Submit yourselves therefore to God”<\/span> (James 4:7).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Submission to God is the prerequisite to victory<\/strong> over demons.<\/p>\n

Submission to God leads to nearness to God. He lifts up those who humble themselves before Him.<\/p>\n

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands…purify your hearts…”<\/span> (James 4:8).<\/p>\n

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up”<\/span> (James 4:10).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Make peace with God, not the devil!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This Is Imperative<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

When I step toward Him, He also steps toward me. It strikes me just now, though, that His steps are far bigger than mine. When I move toward God, the distance between us narrows immensely because of His matching movement toward me!<\/p>\n

So it is imperative that I continue moving toward God, no matter how small my steps may seem to be.<\/p><\/div>\n
