Darkness, death, affliction, abandonment, loneliness, punishment, wrath — that’s Psalm 88 for you.<\/p>\n
Dreary? You bet!<\/p>\n
But, sometimes, that’s how life seems.<\/p>\n
Is.<\/i><\/p>\n
And, at times, that’s even how we live.<\/p>\n
So let me tell you this morning’s lesson for me (as I found it in verses 10-12):<\/p>\n
“Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.”<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n “Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?”<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n “Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?”<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n Shall I, the living, arise and praise God, remembering and declaring his lovingkindness and righteousness?<\/p>\n Those out in the cemetaries don’t.<\/p>\n Am I no more responsive than they to His wonders, lovingkindness, faithfulness, and righteousness?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Darkness, death, affliction, abandonment, loneliness, punishment, wrath — that’s Psalm 88 for you.
