Luke 1:39-56<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

The first four verses of Mary’s Magnificat<\/i> focus on her relationship with God and what He had done for her.<\/p>\n

Then she declares:<\/p>\n

“And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation”<\/font><\/b> (50).<\/p>\n

Me, too!<\/p>\n

His mercy is on me as well. As I write that and think what to write next, a nervous (fearful?) unease crosses my heart — because I thought to write this next:<\/p>\n

Every event of my life is because of (or prepared by) His mercy.<\/p>\n

Why be nervous or fearful or uneasy about that? Well, that’s easy enough to write. But what if He chooses to do something today, something so difficult for me that His mercy is not so evident to me?<\/p>\n

I must trust Him.<\/p>\n

I do<\/i> trust Him. Even so, I still am weak and fearful…and need His comforting reassurance.<\/p>\n

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation”<\/font><\/b> (Isaiah 12:2).<\/p>\n

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness”<\/font><\/b> (Isaiah 41:10).<\/p>\n

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”<\/font><\/b> (John 14:27).<\/p>\n
