Because Of."},"content":{"rendered":"<table width=130 border=0 cellpadding=10 cellspacing=0 bgcolor=\"#003300\" align=right align=texttop>\n<tr>\n<td><b><font color=\"#339933\">Reading:<\/font><br \/>\n<font color=\"#ffffff\">Luke 18:31-43<\/font><br \/>\n<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>Early this morning, as I puttered around making ready to start the fire in our fireplace insert, I started thinking about forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes we have such a struggle giving it!<\/p>\n<p>Finally I got to my Bible reading. It didn&#8217;t take long to arrive at verses 32 and 33:<\/p>\n<p><b><font color=brown>&#8220;For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:<\/p>\n<p>And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.&#8221;<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Despite such rejection, cruelty, mockery, injustice, and pain, Jesus asked the Father to forgive them.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote <i>despite<\/i> then I thought, &#8220;Also because of! He forgave them because of their rejection and cruelty and mockery and injustice and unkindness. They needed to be forgiven.
