{"id":519,"date":"2008-02-22T06:10:20","date_gmt":"2008-02-22T15:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eaf.net\/pantinghart\/?p=519"},"modified":"2014-11-01T08:38:28","modified_gmt":"2014-11-01T15:38:28","slug":"looking-to-the-master","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eaf.net\/pantinghart\/2008\/looking-to-the-master\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking to the Master"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"lectura\">Reading:<\/p>\n<h3>Psalm 123<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Who gives me what I need?<\/p>\n<p>Who tells me what to do?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"bible\">&#8220;Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us&#8221;<\/span><\/b> (Psalm 123:2).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The servant&#8217;s duty is to do the will of the master. <strong>So he looks to the master to learn what he is to do.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The master&#8217;s duty is to supply the needs of the servant. Again, <strong>the servant looks to the master for what he needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That is how I should be looking to Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>My needs &#8212; emotional, social, physical, spiritual &#8212; seem numberless and overwhelming. To me. But not to Him!<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, though, it appears that in being overwhelmed by my needs I am revealing that <strong>I am not resting in the mercy of my Master<\/strong>.
