Psalm 140<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

“Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence”<\/span> (Psalm 140:13).<\/p>\n

Surely?<\/p>\n

Wow!<\/p>\n

Then it seems logical as well as Biblical to conclude that one of the proofs (and fruits and measures) of righteousness is thankfulness.<\/p>\n

And how about the second part of the verse, eh? <\/p>\n

Way back when, a Brother Lawrence wrote The Practice of the Presence of God<\/a>. Though the title has long been food for thought for me, I don’t recall ever having read the book.<\/p>\n

Living consciously, daily, in God’s presence — wouldn’t that revolutionize my life? It seems that would enrich my relationship with Jesus. And with others. It seems that would lead me to peace, stability, strength, purpose, holiness, maturity, joy, love, and all those wonderful things that at times seem distant and elusive.<\/p>\n

I thought of these two verses as cross references:<\/p>\n

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”<\/span> (Psalm 16:11).<\/p>\n

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”<\/span> (Proverbs 3:6).<\/p>\n

I want that!<\/b><\/p>\n
