I. Praise.

In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.

Psalm 56:10

Reading:

Psalm 56

I haven’t written here in a long time.

And my heart really isn’t in it this morning.

But I got to verse three in my reading…and decided I wanted to make a new wallpaper for my computer.

Then I decided I just as well write a bit to post to this neglected blog.

So regarding the title, I simply say: That’s the truth and I need to face it.

And regarding the other title (in the green box), I’ll just comment this: I don’t do it much.

And regarding both titles, this: If I praise God more, will I fear the other things less?

Well, here’s another verse in closing:

“In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me” (Psalm 56:11).

Wait. I forgot….

What does trust in God look like?

[The Scriptures say in Psalm 56:3 -- What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee]
from Psalm 56:3

Last night, just before turning out the bedroom light, I read the daily portions in Daily Light on the Daily Path.

This particular selection provoked a question within me:

“Prove me now herewith,
saith the LORD of hosts,
if I will not open you the windows of heaven,
and pour you out a blessing,
that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

My question was, How do I do that?

Well, this morning I read the entire verse. Hmmmm. I see I had forgotten there is more to that verse than what’s quoted above.

And the entire verse answers my question.

See what you think:

“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10).

Oh. That!
