The Lord's Prayer -- my kingdom or the Father's kingdom?
Thy kingdom come

“Thy kingdom come” is such a short request. But so much is packaged into it! Praying that God’s kingdom would come is good and necessary. But what kind of life effort will we put forth to contribute toward the realization of this request? As citizens of the kingdom, let us make life decisions that advance His kingdom.

God’s kingdom suffers
while my kingdom is built.

“Thy Will Be Done in Earth, As It Is Heaven”

This is what happens when the Father’s kingdom comes. This part of the Lord’s Prayer asks God to do what He wants — and to do so as freely here as there. It also asks that the time would come when we humans do God’s will — and do it as well here on earth as those in Heaven do it there. Both requests fit within God’s will; however, consider a third way of understanding this portion of the prayer.

Sorry to leave you hanging! The above comes from Chapter 10 of a book I’m writing on the Sermon on the Mount. And that’s all I’m putting here.

Surely you could add something...
