But will I turn to Him? Will I listen to Him?
Private

In my dark moments.
In my confused moments.
In my hopeless moments.
In my defeats.
In my tribulations.
In my need.

God knows all and understands all. He always has. And He is here. With me.

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

(Psalm 139:1-3,6,17)

But I forget. And my focus gets all askew.

And I suffer alone when I do not need to. He is ready to comfort. He is ready to listen. He is ready to help me bear it all. And bear me through it all. And not just ready. Able to. Anxious to.

Today I listened to the second part of Charles Stanley’s message on the omniscience of God, based in part on Psalm 139. These are some of the concepts he brings out in the message. I was so touched and blessed by these things.

He closes his message talking about the importance of knowing God’s mind and getting into His Word. Here are some excerpts from the last several minutes, transcribed as best I could:

Everything you and I need to know, God is willing to reveal.

He’s far more willing to give us more of His mind than most of us even want.

I’ll tell you where you get most of His mind. When you have a copy of the Word of God in your hand and the Holy Spirit in your heart, willing and ready to teach you, you have access to the mind of God and all the knowledge you’ll ever need.

I must systematically go to Him daily in His Word on my knees…

You’ve got to get into this book and begin to get His thoughts into your mind.

I don’t mean just read through some passage.

You’ve got to get to the place that whatever He wants is what you want.

You can’t get into the Word just when you get into an emergency.

You’ve got to get in there and stay in there.

If you want to know the mind of God, every day talk to Him, listen to Him.

You’ve got to commit yourself to be obedient before you even know what’s going to happen.

You’ve got to give yourself away in service to God.

He’s far more willing to tell you what you need to know than you’re willing…

Can you tell me anything any more valuable in human life than to have the mind of God?

If you are going through tough times or if you want to know God better or if you just want to be blessed by Bible teaching (or all three, of course), Stanley’s message runs just a few seconds shy of 20 minutes: The God Who Knows All — Part 2.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness (Psalm 112:4)

Surely you could add something...
