Reading:
Psalm 110

Over the last few months I have called out frequently to the Lord, “Defend us!”

Though I haven’t prayed that way regarding human enemies, this verse I just read fits:

“He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries” (6).

I think that’s a gory verse.

But in its own way it declares the great power of my Defender.

And He is no less mighty and effective against my enemies in the spiritual realm!

For by Him we shall do valiantly!

We have our battles, challenges, and obstacles. Most of the time we each want to fight our own battles. We want to overcome our own challenges. We want to clamber over our own obstacles.

That’s fine. God expects us to do our part, to go out with faith in Him.

Sometimes, though, part of faith in Him involves this:

“The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool” (Psalm 110:1).

By Him shall we overcome. By Him we shall do valiantly.

By Him.

Remember, Mark. Don’t forget again!
