I read this early this morning…and was filled with hope again:

Be not far from me; for trouble is near. —Psalm 22:11.

How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? -Psalm 13:1,2

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. -Psalm 27:9

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. -Psalm 91:15

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. -Psalm 145:18,19

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. -John 14:18

Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. -Matthew 28:20

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. -Psalm 46:1

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. -Psalm 62:1

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. -Psalm 62:5

But…how does it connect to my present circumstances?

I struggle to know the answer to that question.

Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. —Psalm 50:15.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. -Psalm 42:11

Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear. -Psalm 10:17

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. -Psalm 86:5

Jacob said unto his household, . . . Let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. -Genesis 35:2,3

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. -Psalm 103:2

I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I on the name of the Lord. -Psalm 116:1-4

“I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” That sure sounds like a good deal to me!

  1. God delivers me
  2. I glorify God.

God will keep up His end of this terrific bargain.

Will I?
