I just saw this on the Facebook page of a fast food joint:
“Like this post if you’re as honored as we are that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. graced the world with his presence.”
The quote just begs some questions. For instance,
- What makes that an honor to me?
- How was it Mr. King’s choice to bring his presence here?
- Who truly did grace the world by being here?
- Does that constitute an honor to me?
- Is my presence in the world a channel of grace to anyone?
- What is your response to my asking these questions?
PS: This post is far less about Mr. King than it is about W’s strange Facebook post.
