That sounds like an eager, well-thought-through response to a wedding vow question . . . .

Will you love her in sickness and health, keeping yourself only for her till death parts you both?

I will!

Does a similar response fit in my commitment to the Lord Jesus?

When I teach you My truth, will you treasure it and obey it for the rest of your life?

I will!

That sounds kind of odd, no?

But that’s the kind of eager, well-thought-through response God wants from me.

“Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end” (Psalm 119:33).

Otherwise, why should He teach me?
