Reading:
Psalm 113

Sometimes I feel that way. Too often, in fact. Resigned to my self-inflicted lot. No longer dreaming big. Walking (is that what it’s called?) on the edge of discouragement and depression — enjoying life’s bright spots before the stirring breeze puffs me over yet again.

Maybe sort of like a woman with a mother-heart who, despite being in her physical prime, cannot bear children.

Well, then….

“He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord” (9).

Oh, wow!!

When God wants better for me, let me not be resigned to my lot.

When God has great plans for me, let me not give up hope.

When God walks beside me, let me not feel alone.

When God continues to bless me in abundant generosity, let me not think I’m desolate.

And He does all of the above…and more!
