Today’s chapter concludes with one of my favorite verses:

“Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:25).

Jesus died because of my sin. And in His death, He “took care of” my sin. That means He washed me clean of all my sin.

His death has taken care of all my past sin. And it will take care of all my future sin, if I ask Him to do that.

That is so restful to me.

But one thing that isn’t restful to me is to continue failing and sinning.

Yeah, I know — He also continues to forgive and cleanse me.

But it would be nice to not continue failing and sinning!

Well, according to that verse, that’s what He rose again for!

Yes, indeed. He rose again to make me more and more just.

He is perfecting me!

Warning after warning — that’s this short little book.

Evil and corruption are everywhere, along with deception and hypocrisy.

Don’t fall for any of it!

That’s the warning message in this book.

That must explain why the next-to-last verse came as a blessing, encouragement, and assurance.

“[He] is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 24).

Despite all the evil, corruption, deception, and hypocrisy, the Lord Jesus is able to keep me!
