Reading:
Philippians 2:1-11

Got a problem with either of those? (Like I do?)

Do you detect in yourself (as I do in me) a picky attitude or a proud spirit?

If I stop doing anything for the sake of contrariness or self-promotion, how much would I stop doing?

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves” (3).

Nothing.

Wow! 😯

So…how do I overcome strife and vainglory?

By lowliness…meekness…humility…servanthood…Christ-likeness.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (5).

[Let each esteem other better than themselves (Philippians 2:3)]

Reading:
Deuteronomy 30:15-20

“See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil” (15).

Today I will make many choices — among attitudes, words, thoughts, values, purposes, goals.

Will I choose life or death? good or evil?

I rarely think of it in those terms.

My Web browsing and my feet will take me places. Will I choose life?

My email and my interaction with people will give me more opportunities to choose. What will it be?

Life and good, death and evil — what will be your choice, Mark?

Death and evil, life and good — what is your choice, Mark?

At this moment, I choose life.

May I remember to choose life again and again through the day.

[Choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19)]
from Deuteronomy 30:19

Oh, after reading Deuteronomy 30:15-20, I read this in a little book: Take One Step. Read it!
