We missed the boat an hour ago. 🙁
For the second time this year already.
At 5:53 this morning, our last two young folks at home left for a visit to our congregation’s mission operation in northwest Mexico.
Chayli and Andy sure wanted us to go along. Had God opened the door, Read it all
The elderly man and I stood just outside the fog line on the busy-at-that-time two-lane highway. The strip of pavement between the fog line and the gravel is narrow at that point. The gravel shoulder is itself narrow before sloping down into the shallow, weedy ditch.
We have no crosswalk. We have no Ped Xing sign. We have no caution sign of any sort. We have no diminished speed zone. We have no Read it all
I went on my early morning half-mile-each-way walk. (I like to walk.)
The temperature was a tad nippy, the precipitation was barely drippy, the air currents were somewhat whippy, and I felt borderline zippy.
As I walked, I talked. In my head. With certain subjects on the agenda. Read it all
I’m indebted to Emily Smucker for today’s unexpected food for thought.
A photo-posting error on her part triggered this reminder for me:

If I purposed to be that more often, what effect would it have on their dark times?
And what would it do for my own dreary times? Read it all
I used to make computer wallpaper using (generally-)scenic photography and personalized Psalms (and other Scripture verses).
I wanted to have a day’s outstanding verse fragment before me all day.
Alas, I still forgot to remember and focus on those Scriptures. 🙁
So this really resonates in my heart: Read it all
Today was a rough day.
I forgot to practice thankfulness.
Which didn’t help at all.
For a Christian, a rough day is a bad reason to forget to be grateful. Read it all
No, not Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Mary, the sister of Jesus. (No, I don’t personally know that for sure.)
This particular Mary was abducted in Egypt in June 2007.
Alas, her case isn’t unique in that part of the world. But I highlight her to remind us: Read it all
